We have heard of the eagle, a magnificent bird that soars high. The eagle is one that does not keep a fight on the ground. The eagle is known to fly in the eye of a storm. What exceptional strength the eagle must have to accomplish such a task. Just like an eagle, fly high in the spirit of God and rest in Him. Trust your savior to give deliverance from danger. The storms may be rough, but going into the eye takes much strength. The assurance provided by our Lord when face with day to day trials is secure.
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength: They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint” Isaiah 40:31
We are soldiers of the Lord, and soldiers are resilient. The times we now see in this world bring distraction to keep our eyes off the Glorious God. Fear is on a worldwide scale due to the disruption of man’s routine. These things should not affect us as soldiers, as an eagle, but we are to be ready. Remember, our warfare is not carnal but spiritual. We are encouraged to be strong in mind. You are steadfast in God, who says he will fight for you. Too often, we think we are alone but is just another lie from the enemy. The God we serve is everywhere. He is a spirit of the moves and dwells in us.
“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.” 2 Thessalonians 2:2
What to do
- Be Prayerful
It is by communicating with God that we will become sensitive to His voice. We speak to Him, and he listens, but we too must look to God; he always has an answer. Being prayerful is keeping your mind on Christ, putting Him at the front of your life in making decisions. What if you begin your road trip and never talk to God about it? You may even accept a job that never consulted God. The risk of your actions could lead to distress, no protection on your journey, problems on the job none stop. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says pray without ceasing.
- Be Observant
The spirit of discerning comes from our Lord, who wants us to try the spirits. Have you ever gotten that uneasy feeling about someone or something? That may be the spirit of God in you, alerting you to danger. Then there are the sweeping changes in the world pointing towards the coming of the Lord. Jesus does not want us to be afraid, but be aware and keep your souls from becoming contaminated. 2 Thessalonians 5:6 says let us watch and be sober
- Keep covered
Divine coverage comes with the full armor of God. As soldiers, we can not be at war and have no gears. Hence put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation ( 2 Thessalonians 5:8). It is love that covers our sins, so we show love, forgive, encourage others and stan on the promises of the dive one.
Awesome encouragement especially in these time of uncertainties and huge demands. Thank you!
Glad to be of service. The time may be uncertain, but we are reminded of the God of probability. He is there to hear our cry and answer by his mighty hand.
