My Treasures

It is amazing how we view treasures. It looks on from the worlds as wealth riches or valuables, and many seek after these things. There is often admiration for the great wonders of the world, and visiting the beautiful site becomes a bucket list for many. You may be one who has to envision yourself in Paris, Rome, London, or Tahiti, but why? You want the experience of the culture, food, scenic beauty. The natural splendor is all God’s creation, so we admire with wonder.

But let me show you a more glorious treasure that is the gift of God’s love to us, which gives eternal life. While we are living here on earth and have all the earthly comfort, remember heaven is our destination. We are reminded in Luke 12:34, “for where your treasure is there will your heart be also.” So let us cast our eyes on Christ, our savior, who said He is gone to prepare a place for us. This place call heaven has a street of gold and walls of jasper. Let your soul rejoice in the hope of a better place.

The love that God shows us is better than any treasure of this world. There is temporary satisfaction of happiness and love.

God offers:
  • Strength-Yet, the Lord said His joy is our strength.

Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

  • Eternal peace-God has so much compassion for us that he wants nothing more than eternal peace for us. The fortune that God gives us is freedom from sin. Our souls set free; we are now sons of the heavenly father. As son, we have golden opportunities to and ask of King what we will. That is why we pray, to maintain the relationship to tell Him how we feel. It is to receive daily from him.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

  • Coverage- The protection that comes from God is never ending. You may have coverage on your earthly possession, and that insurance coverage has an expiration date, but there is no expiration date on God’s protection. Jesus already paid the price on Calvary.

My transgression is sealed up in a bag, And you cover my iniquity “Job 14:17

Reflection

Today reflect on where your heart is. Are you more concerned about your earthly stuff, or is there care for what you have with God? You may or may not have a journal, but take the time to write how you are feeling.
