What Did God Say to You Today?

Today, we look at life lessons.

I tell you, people, God has been good, refuse to complain. God has spoken to us in every aspect of our lives and in different ways, and He continues to speak. Sometimes you do not listen. So, this is the thing I bought this new chair. I am fixing it up, screwing the parts together. While putting in the bolts, I was like, this looks wrong. I am ignoring my instincts. Then, God’s spirit reminds me, don’t I look after you, so I do not listen to the voice telling me that I was doing this all wrong.

I continue to screw this thing to the very end. When all the screws were in, you know that the edges were all wrong, looking to see perfection. I had done it wrong, so I had to take it off. I am not listening to my instincts. Big mistake! We all have been, given us instincts. God is always speaking to us when we’re about to take that wrong turn or make that wrong move. We often don’t listen to nudge; we don’t listen to what God tells us, often unrelenting, want to get to it done. When one continues on the wrong path, there will be repetitive trials until we get it right. Then there is refusal to heed to correction, which is outright failure.

What happened when all is going wrong? There is a tendency to become frustrated. One may even feel like giving up or feel like a failure. The beauty in making a mistake is that we learn from them. In that instance, I realized I did not read the manual appropriately. I had taken a glance and thought, I got this. I was in for a surprise. I mess it up because I did not take the time to read the details.

Frequently, the most incredible manual is, read yet misunderstood. I am speaking about the bible. Life is always pitching challenges at us that may leave us feeling flustered or helpless. The bible is, written for our guidance, so read with understanding. One piece of information in the bible with Phillip and the Eunuch is such. The Eunuch was reading but lack knowledge as Philip came by and asked him what he reads. The Eunuch was honest in telling Philip he did not understand. Phillip expounded the word of God to him, and he was then baptized (Acts 8:30-36). Taking the time to revisit the blueprint of our lives is the answer to preventing many errors. The fact is we need an interrupter because of ourselves; our understanding is limited. God has given His spirit for revelation and without Him skewing clarification of Gods words.

“But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God” Job 13:7

  • God is always speaking

When on the wrong path, God will tell what to do, but one has to listen. What did Proverbs says about correction?

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction” Proverbs 3:11

Correction can be viewed by some as criticism but not so with our Lord. God wants us on the right path, and He has proven that He loves us by dying on the cross. Remember, we serve an all-knowing God that sees our end. Putting one’s faith in the only real and living, God will bring no regrets.

“Harsh discipline is for him who forsakes the way, And he who hates correction will die” Proverbs 15:10

  • Do not be so adamant

Listen to the given correction. The proverb said that wise men listen to instructions. Have you ever encounter someone so set in a way they are their destruction. The bible says there is only one righteous, and that is God. One may even think acknowledging a weakness will go against their character, but even Christ said,” if it is possible to let this cup pass from me” (Matthew 26:39). Christ acknowledges that His flesh was weak, but more excellent spirit within Him.

  • Do not wait until the very end. That may be too late.

It is going to take more energy and time to rectify the wrong. Whenever God’s voice is speaking for one to, take that correction life lessons. Attend to the Lord’s voice is ever near to bring correction and direction. The people of Israel wandered forty long years in the wilderness after being brought out of slavery. They had God leading them, yet they refused to follow the commandments given them.
